We are the only hope left for America
We have to get out and on the battleground.
We have to get off the computers and on the streets
We have to do it now.
We had hoped that TRUTH and the HORROR of EIGHT LONG YEARS OF DISASTER would make this election a landslide for all that is GOOD and DECENT
We were wrong. This country may be closer to the England of V for Vendetta than the once free and egalitarian nation we once knew and loved than we would like to admit.
The numbers tell us that we are in for a battle to save the planet
and our country. It is a battle we must win.
Armageddon is a Christian Belief concerning The End of Days and the coming Apocalypse
A world leader who's convinced that life is merely a trial for the more valuable and authentic afterlife is less hesitant to risk starting a nuclear holocaust. A politician or corporate executive who's expecting the Rapture to arrive on the next flight from Jerusalem is not going to worry much about polluting oceans or destroying forests. Why should he? To emphasize the afterlife is to deny life. To concentrate on Heaven is to create hell. In their desperate longing to transcend the disorderliness, friction, and unpredictability that pesters life; in their desire for a fresh start in a tidy habitat, germ-free and secured by angels, religious multitudes are gambling the only life they may ever have on a dark horse in a race that has no finish line. The image of all those filthy rich oil and weapons fed Republicans trying to squeeze through the eye of the needle as the rapture envelops the pseudo-Christian Rightwingnut Faithful it tantalizing. The Fallwellian - Robersonian vision of the Christ as a warmongering wealth-gathering Republican icon is ludicrous.
The average Republican is buys into the philosophy of Tom Robbins Reverend Buddy Winkler. The Reverend Buddy is intent on blowing up the Dome on the Rock in Jerusalem in order to build the third Temple so it can be destroyed to hasten the Apocalypse predicted by Revelations.
Each modern religion has boasted that it and it alone is on speaking terms with the Deity, and its adherents have been quite willing to die – or kill - to support its presumptuous claims.Tom Robbins nails these pretenders who seek to impose their religious beliefs on the nation in violation of the Constitution
Religion was an attempt to pin down the Divine. The Divine was eternally in flux, forever moving, shifting shape. That was its nature. It was absolute, true enough: absolutely mobile. Absolutely transcendent goddess aspects, but it was ultimately no more male or female than it was star or screwdriver. It was the sum of all those things, but that sum could never be chalked on a slate. The Divine was beyond description, beyond knowing, beyond comprehension. To say that the Divine was Creation divided by Destruction was as close as one could come to definition. But the puny of soul, the dull of wit, weren’t content with that. They wanted to hang a face on the Divine. They went so far as to attribute petty human emotions [anger, jealousy, etc.] to it, not stopping to realize that if God were a being, even a supreme being, our prayers would have bored him to death long ago.SKINNY LEGS AND ALL will demolish your Dogma and give you a clear concise philosophy of life that will server you well in the face of pseudo-Christian Rightwingnut Extremism. It is a feminist manifesto written by a randy male with impressive insight and a dynamite sense of humor.
Religion is nothing but institutionalized mysticism. The catch is, mysticism does not lend itself to institutalization. The moment we attempt to organize mysticism, we destroy its essence.Tom doesn't want to lead any philosophical movement. His mantra involves you having to figure it out for yourself while avoiding the traps of CANT and DOGMA. Jesus basic idea that everybody should treat others as they wish to be treated and to be kind and generous is fine with Tom. That seems to be forgotten in Republican pseudo-Christian thought.
Whether you might think the Anti-Christ is W or McSame or Karl Rove or even the apostle Paul - it certainly isn't Barack Obama or any other Democrat. Jesus was a revolutionary of his time reaching out to help the poor and the oppressed. He wasn't hanging out with the elite and powerful. Jesus didn't own 10 houses or sell beer to get them.
I love to debate pseudo-Christians who send out emails saying that Obama is a Muslim and we must have a Christian in the White House. I ask if they missed the Commandment against bearing false witness. If they indicate a problem with race of origin I ask if they forgot the Church kindergarten song "Jesus Loves the Little Children" all of them in the whole world "Red and Yellow, Black and White"? Or do they believe he stopped loving them when they got older.
We are engaged in a battle for the soul of America with the forces of evil who seek to use specific religious Dogma to overcome their obvious failure to do what is best for the vast majority of Americans. They have tried to convince American's that the government OF BY AND FOR THE PEOPLE is something separate from them that need to be stopped while every indication is that privatization (particularly the Halliburton/KBR privatization in Iraq) has been more inept than the government they have been running into the ground.
The pseudo-Christians and true Christians have been played for fools by the Bush administration. Karl Rove is an Atheist (please read this link) and W isn't the true believer he pretends. How else do they explain the fact that 8 long years of Bush including 6 with a majority of both houses in Congress didn't get them a single piece of their radical Christian agenda?
Sarah Palin may be more authentic in her radical pseudo-Christian wingnut leanings concerning Abortion, Creationism, and Book Banning but she mocks the foundation of faith based action - community organizers. So ask Sara this when she says Creationists deserve equal time or a sticker on textbooks
Is it "indoctrination" if we teach the history of the Holocaust and do not give equal time to the deniers of the Holocaust?Rove wants to see a Republican President like Adam Sutler in V for Vendetta as an all powerful totalitarian wingnut leader who controls the corporate media and runs the country with the Military-Industrial Complex. The pity is that's the side that is winning. Change a couple of words and you can see Rove writing this speech for W.
Is it indoctrination if we teach astronomy and make no mention of astrology?
Is it indoctrination if we teach the heliocentric view of the solar system without giving equal time to geocentrists?
Did you like that? USA... Ulcered Sphincter of Ass-erica, I mean what else can you say? Here was a country that had everything, absolutely everything. And now, 20 years later, is what? The world's biggest leper colony. Why? Godlessness. Let me say that again... Godlessness. It wasn't the war they started. It wasn't the plague they created. It was Judgement. No one escapes their past. No one escapes Judgement. You think he's not up there? You think he's not watching over this country? How else can you explain it? He tested us, but we came through. We did what we had to do. Islington. Enfield. I was there, I saw it all. Immigrants, Muslims, homosexuals, terrorists. Disease-ridden degenerates. They had to go. Strength through unity. Unity through faith. I'm a God-fearing Englishman and I'm goddamn proud of it!The TRUTH is that REPUBLICANS are like the pedophile Priests of the Catholic Church who violate everything that Christ represents while using "pseudo-Christian moral values" in the most dishonest sham imaginable. That is the essence of EVIL. Jesus Wept.
